Guitar-maker lies summer complaint for patent infringement against the Rock Band developers, publishers and retailers.

Since Harmonix is now in Rock Band 3, the developer won 't have to worry about the current Hall of drama, as the company settled a longstanding legal attack from Gibson.

According to BusinessWeek report , Gibson Guitar Corporation settled a patent infringement lawsuit with Electronic Arts, Viacom, and various retailers in a series of Rock Band.

Companies appeared before the judge, and June 4 reported that they had reached a full settlement in accordance with the federal Tennessee court documents. Terms of the settlement weren 't been disclosed, but 2 will seek to dismiss the case on June 14, according to the documents.

Nashville-based Gibson, known for producing BB King 's famous "Lucille" style on the guitar and Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, the leader of the' S "Les Paul," is suing Harmonix, MTV Games and distribution partner EA in 2008 . The lawsuit alleges that Rock Band and plastic guitar peripheral violated s Gibson '1999 patent "system for simulation of electronic user's participation in a pre-recorded musical works."

Gibson also took the music game rival Activision and Guitar Hero brand in the court for the same principle in 2009, although the case was later thrown out .

Franchises Rock Band has expanded recently with the release of Green Day: Rock Band, as well as to be in Rock Band 3, confirmed for the rest of 2010.
