Sleeping Dogs - review

sometimes not what you do but how you do that counts. As proof, one need not look beyond Sleeping Dogs, the United Front of love letter to the golden age of Hong Kong movies of the action in late 1980. Here's a game that looks like a cocktail of tropes of cinema and gameplay that have overheated and fried repeatedly, you can almost smell the grease on them. But if you can stop the collection in its components and see Sleeping Dogs at large, more likely to find that it is one of the most exciting games and constantly enjoyable 2012.
Sleeping Dogs tells the story of Shen Wei, a Hong Kong tyrant who has just returned to his hometown after a long period in the United States. Things start with Wei be thrown into a cell for drug trafficking and everything there, he meets Jackie, a childhood companion who languishes in the bottom of the food chain in the local triads. Wei asks Jackie if you can get some work, and before you know, Wei raise money to protect against market stall owners, theft and sale of cars and beat up rival gang members with an iron bar. What are the new Triad Wei compatriots do not know is that the muscle is found an undercover cop, the task to stop his criminal organization from within.
If the plot development in Sleeping Dogs sounds a little testing, then the game structure that houses it will strike most readers. To put it bluntly, Sleeping Dogs have a huge debt to the influence of Grand Theft Auto series. It is located in a vast urban sandbox the player moves on foot and in vehicles, has a history of crime by a series of back-missions and, yes, there are many mini-games, side quests, prosecution cars, shootings and fights.
United FrontBut while working with a gaming section in place and that the plot elements are older than age certificate of the game, which infuses the proceedings with a new call which allows players to ignore their stereotypical origins.
Take, for example, Wei loyalties and how they are distributed among his colleagues in the Triad commanders and police must be reported. Of course, this is a plot that is part of the city and fire two parts of Infernal Affairs, but UF is used as a springboard and dives straight into its murky depths.
As Wei makes its way up the ranks Triad, which becomes more valuable as an asset of the police, but also respects the criminals who are essentially trying to overthrow. His brothers can be a package triad thugs and violent psychopaths, but they have strong codes of loyalty and family, and we are very concerned about the welfare of Wei police commanders. They, in turn, are more concerned about building a case against leaders of the Triad, and if that means Wei to break the law, or endangered, so be it. Somehow, the commanders of the workforce are also insensitive and calculation of gentlemen who are trying to break triad.
- Whenever the player thinks he has recorded the history, the United Front comes off another layer that changes both their expectations and raises the stakes drama. Not quite original, but effective nonetheless. The fact that all the characters in the game are very well written and beautifully told not bad, either. In short, the United Front work hard to get the player in the story of the game, and it's easy to become invested in the history of Wei, even before the action begins. It is easily one of the strongest active set. second trump card is the card game in the game of Hong Kong, represented here as a metropolis of neon encrusted where majestic skyscrapers tower on an expanding hive of illegal activity. Flea markets and the fight against illegal clubs rub shoulders with shops and hangouts of gang slice. All major roads and highways has asked to be played along, and the gate of the city, the streets are dotted with numerous alleys and side streets.
