Victory II: A House Divided

added as a new starting point for aa II

Victoria

. This puts you at the outset of the Civil War, which means you can pick up the Confederate States of America as your faction. This expansion is more than just the Civil War, however. It also offers a new user interface, improved speed, new ways to start wars, and more reasons to play as a civilized nation.
If you are a fan of the civil war, then I'll be drooling over the content of this expansion, but even without the contents of the Civil War is still interesting enough changes to make this one Paradox of the best extensions.

Victoria II

The first thing you notice is that the user interface is more like the latest games from Paradox, for example

Sengoku

Europa Universalis III: Divine Wind . It is easier to see the information you need cleaner menus and suggestions. The new map filters, output GRO and the sphere of influence to make it easier to understand what is happening in the world. The look of the original wooden Victoria II

disappeared, replaced by a much smaller interface. All drives are new icons, and all loading screens the game load times are shorter and move the map is smoother. Overall, it's more attractive.

In my first play through, I decided to play as a CSA. Winning the War of Northern Aggression was not very difficult, but building a new country was. I have struggled financially for a while and I had to remove most of my army and navy. Just as I was about to take things slow down, the U.S. decided it was time to return to Tennessee. I was not prepared for that, and I gave Tennessee, north in less than a year. Ten years later, North Korea again declared war on the South trying to reunite the Union. This "war of Northern Aggression", led to the end of the CSA.

The way the game is surprisingly organic and realistic Civil War. Of course you can change history and that the South won the war, but everything is in the realm of possibility. You will have to worry about things such as supplies for his troops, social pressures on slavery, the rights of African Americans, the rise of the Democratic Party, the world demand for cotton, and many other small adjustments that reflect the time period very well.
