series worked well as a franchise to download, find a good home on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Fans of turn-based strategy combat liked the simplicity and enjoyment of the series, and therefore, the titles have sold well.

For its new iteration, Team17 has taken a step forward by adding many new options, while taking a step back.

For the uninitiated,

worm

happen, the pseudo-strategy title in which one faction tries to take the other with a variety of land destruction weapons and maneuvers. Most of the previous entries were presented in a side view in 2D, but some, like this one, are in 3D.

The first time you start the game, a strange video begins by explaining the world of

worm , but not quite the way you play. Protection is left a rather long tutorial mode, which thank God is separate and optional on the main game, as it tends to take almost as much as some of the missions of real history. Although the tutorial usually offers one or two team members, the story mode gives you a little more.

To call worm last Mayhem

a new game is a misnomer. The title is actually a repackaging of the two Photo Worms 3D Photo Photo
