garbage in leadership? As to give a second chance when you crash - or even fifth? After getting behind the wheel of Colin McRae: DiRT Showdown
If Colin McRae rally games can be called a family, then the branch

(PS3/Xbox 360/PC) Hedonist is the rebel young cousin. The McRae family business trade is particularly bleak. From the beginning of the franchise - Colin McRae: DiRT renamed - 12 years, the ancestors were Showdown severe driving simulators filled slammed claws, sharp turns and brakes expertly timed. They were frowned upon as frivolous games ramps and power-ups, as a landscape painter sought to end a work of art by adding a naked man a wave of lava. There was, in brief, casual games.
In the first sections, in particular, the series was clearly courting players who believed that decent rally drivers in the real world. The type of player that every time a commercial pilot is injured, half believed that they will receive a phone call from national coach pleaded, "We need you. Know that you have never driven a real car , but damn, John, you're the best man we have. "The player of the first games archetypes belonging to a plug-in steering wheel, brake pedals and a special chair with integrated speakers, and there was almost certainly at least a man, somewhere, who starred in a concentration of car size paper mache which took half of his apartment.
- Showdown, by contrast, makes a clean break from the congestion realism of their ancestors. The typical game player video Showdown picked his driver's license in a Mario Kart with Crash Bandicoot as his instructor, and then only scraped a pass in his fifth time to take the test. This is pure arcade racing.
- Which means, of course, a push button, spectacular crashes and a lot of different game modes. It is a sign of how far the franchise has strayed from its roots muddy tracks that even in the way of traditional careers are full of ramps and obstacles to plant, while the corners, however, are the rare each other, and tend to be kind and tolerant. Even a novice compared should be able to do from beginning to end without, like most driving games force them, bouncing off the sides, like a tampon bowling ball. And, as if it was not easy enough, in those rare occasions when a player gets a turn, one button rewinds time to let him give it another try, a movement that can be used five times in a race.
