linear narrative is not necessarily a bad thing. Some of my favorite games of this generation have stories to give the ability to make their own decisions. Half-Life 2, Dead Space, Assassins Creed 2

are primarily focused on telling a specific story. Joystiq

however, something emerged from the specific narrative has changed my perception of the lack of options: linear gameplay
